Goals and vision
Hva kan foreningen gjøre for våre medlemmer
The association Én kjærlighet – Ett hjerte – Ett mål (One Love – One Heart – One Goal) aims to help parents and children gain a better understanding, so that cooperation with child welfare services can work well for all parties involved.
It is a fact that many parents experience child welfare intervention as an attack and a threat to their own identity when child welfare services first contact them in an investigation case. This can have a negative impact on the parents and they may react with natural defense, which can damage communication.
We want to prepare our members for the various situations that can arise in child protection processes. Our support will be provided both in specific situations and in the form of preventive training. This will help members to be mentally prepared and confident that they can largely handle the situations and have the necessary tools to be understood.
In this process, it is important to point out that our members with different ethnic backgrounds can often face communication problems. Parents’ protests or statements must not necessarily be interpreted as a negative attitude or opposition to the child welfare service. Rather, it can be an expression of a different perspective, which although it may be wrong, can also be right.
The association believes that members should become aware of the differences in their culture, language and religion. At the same time, we believe that the child welfare service must also understand this, so that parents can maintain their identity in the processes.
