MY STORY
Jeg heter Bjørn Erik Edstrøm, og jeg ønsker å dele historien om hvorfor jeg valgte å bli en del av denne bemerkelsesverdige foreningen
This association has a special meaning for me because of my childhood friend Zartasht’s personal journey through a tough case with child welfare services. I got to experience and see first-hand the challenges he faced. Through his struggle, he found the strength and motivation to start this association with the purpose of helping others in similar situations.
My friend’s victory in a difficult situation inspires me to join and contribute to his vision. It is this genuine care and dedication that makes me want to be a part of this important work. I’m a father myself, and my children are the most important thing in my life.
I’ve experienced first-hand what it’s like to be prejudged because of my tattoos. This applies to meetings with kindergartens, parent meetings and school graduations. Who we are on the outside shouldn’t define us as people, but I see that it’s not always that simple. That’s why I’m constantly working on improving my communication skills so that I can convey to others who I am.
In the association, I will help to create better cooperation and understanding between parents, children and child welfare services. Seeing families flourish through improved communication and support is incredibly rewarding and I’m grateful to be a part of it. Together with Zartasht and the rest of the association, I want to create positive change in an important part of our society. We believe in the ability to restore trust and build bridges between parents, children and child welfare services.
By working together, we can really make a difference for families and reduce the risk of harmful decisions.

Overall, our goal is to be Norway's foremost association for assisting parents and children and to be the association that is equipped to unite the interests of the state and parents/children.
At the beginning of our case, I felt helpless and constantly overrun by the child welfare system at all levels.
