Promoting the rights of parents and children
Working to promote the rights of parents and children by meeting with child protection, BUPP,
conversation process, the county council and the state administrator.
Be a hearing organization
Be a hearing body to uncover weaknesses and gaps, and to help improve child protection rules and protocols.
Set up a register
Work to promote the rights of parents and children when meeting with child welfare services, BUP, communication processes, Fylkesnemnda and Statsforvalteren
Delete links
Remove fixed links between child protection and experts, psychologists and other stakeholders.
Provide advice
Provide advice to parents and children so that they are better equipped to deal with the aforementioned organizations.
Informing parents and children
Inform parents and children of the processes, rules, rights and expectations that are established, both through conferences and hands-on meetings.
Help promote
Help promote the voice of parents and children based on their own relevant experiences in emergency shelters, institutions, etc. in complaint and monitoring procedures under the auspices of the State Administrator.
Improving cooperation
Help improve cooperation between child welfare services, parents and children, including understanding of cultural differences, body language, language barriers, etc.
Preventing discrimination
To help highlight and prevent unfair discrimination and stigmatization of parents who risk being discriminated against because they don’t fit into an A4 photo, for example because of their ethnicity, origin, skin colour, education, culture, language, etc.
Recruiting emergency shelters
Work to recruit new emergency shelters that better meet the needs of vulnerable children and secure children’s identity, religion, language and cultural heritage.
Recruit qualified people
Recruit selected advocates and interpreters who are passionate about working for parents and children.
