"Better homes, for better childhoods"
WHY WE CHOSE TO START THE ASSOCIATION
Én kjærlighet - Ett hjerte - Ett mål:
The issues we’ve seen are recurring, and there’s every reason to believe that the causes of the problems are at system level. The weaknesses we have observed propagate in the systems from the State Administrator at the top to the individual child welfare offices and institutions, including caseworkers and other employees.
Caseworkers often receive a lot of strong criticism from parents and others on social media, but in our opinion the criticism should to a greater extent be directed upwards to the management of the child welfare services/institutions and up to the State Administrator. We believe that case managers often have inadequate tools, inadequate guidelines and a lack of training in problem identification and understanding.
The State Administrator has the supervisory authority and mandate to analyze, understand and implement necessary changes downwards in the system. In this context, caseworkers and parents/children also have a shared responsibility to report issues that are not working as intended, with potentially very serious consequences for parents and children. We go so far as to say that this is the duty of both caseworkers and parents.
Our goal is to assist parents and children in similar situations, as well as to be the association that is equipped to unite the interests of the state and parents/children.
